Matthew enrolled at the University of Missouri, where he is currently a senior Plant Science Major with an emphasis in Crop Management with an expected graduation date of December 2013. He is presently the Events Chair of the MU Agronomy Club, a class representative in the CAFNR Student Council, and Alpha Zeta Honor Fraternity. He also has the honor to be involved in student recruitment through CAFNR Ambassadors, focusing on the recruitment of plant science majors. Matthew is currently working for Dr. Kevin Bradley in the weed science department assisting graduate students with their research. In the summer of 2011 he interned with Monsanto Corn Breeding with the responsibilities to conduct and present research projects, scout fields, and lead crew’s of seasonal workers. In the summer of 2012 Matthew moved to Williamsburg, IA to intern with Monsanto Production Research his job focus on research of producing hybrid corn as efficiently as possible with the varying parental lines. This past summer Matthew work with Mycogen Seeds as a Customer Agronomy Intern for the state of Missouri his task included notes on market-sell plots, attending to service calls, and assisting at plot tours and meetings. After graduation Matthew plans to pursue a Masters degree in the field of plant science. He would like to express his appreciation to everyone involved in the scholarship and is elated to receive such a prestigious award.
